APTPUO is looking forward to the start of classes for the Winter Term 2021! While we all experienced difficulties during the last winter session and throughout 2020, we are starting the new year stronger and more resilient than the previous year.

Here are a few reminders for the New Year:

The Start of the Classes

Courses for the Winter Term will begin on January 11th, and will extend to April 14th.

How to Reach Us

For health and safety concerns, the APTPUO office will remain closed. However, we are available by email to answer any questions you may have.

The best way to contact the APTPUO office during this exceptional period is by email at info@aptpuo.ca

If you must contact an APTPUO employee by phone, please leave a message in the voice mailbox with your name, faculty, phone number and the best time to call you. An employee will call you back with a blocked number.

Don’t forget to subscribe to the posting notification system for APTPUO members.

By subscribing to the posting notification system, you will receive daily email notifications of job postings from your faculties and departments.

Extended Health Insurance Plan

Deadline: January 30, 2021

At the time of hire, members holding appointments during the Winter 2021 semester may opt into the medical plan at the time of appointment for a period of twelve months. The deadline to opt into the plan for this semester is January 30.

To opt into the medical plan, contact Human Resources at 613 562 5832 or complete the registration form and send it to infohr@uottawa.ca before January 30. For more information on the medical plan through Canada Life, please visit the Human Resources website.

Pension Plan

APTPUO members have access to a defined contribution pension plan. The contribution is set at 7% for the employer and 7% for the member.

Only members of the Association having worked during the previous calendar year are eligible to participate in the pension plan. The plan is administered by the University on behalf of APTPUO members.

To enroll in the plan, contact Human Resources directly at 613 562 5832 or infohr@uottawa.ca.

There is no deadline to enroll in the plan. However, the Association strongly encourages members to enroll at the beginning of the session to avoid paying all of the contributions at once.
