2021 Part-Time Professor of the Year Award

Since 1996, the Association has presented an award of excellence in teaching to one of its members who have stood out throughout the previous year.

After carefully evaluating the nominations for the Award of Excellence and thanks to the generous donation made to this cause by Professor John Rakos, the Awards Committee wishes to announce two recipients of the Part-Time Professor of the Year Award for 2021: Professor Ruth Bradley-St-Cyr from the Faculty of Arts and Professor and Professor Yves Laberge from the Faculty of Social Science.

Meet the 2021-2022 APTPUO Board of Directors. 

In December, we announced that all three candidates for the Board of Directors elections were elected by acclamation.

Therefore, we would like to present you the composition of the APTPUO Board of Directors. The following are the directors and their roles:

Main Unit Reminders…

Tuition Fee Credit Plan
Last chance to apply for the Tuition Fee Credit Plan for the Winter 2022 Term.

Deadline: January 31st, 2022

The Tuition Fee Credit Plan reimburses a portion of the tuition fees for students registered at uOttawa who are the child or the spouse of a Part-Time Professor. If the Part-Time Professor is a part-time student at uOttawa, they too may apply for the credit.

All members of the main bargaining unit are eligible for tuition credits. Available funds are distributed to those who have submitted an application. It should be noted that the fund reserved for this purpose is $60,000 per year.

Are you Teaching Remotely?

Submit your receipts to your department to get reimbursed up to $15 per month for your internet costs. 

In accordance with Article 10.1.5 of the Collective Agreement, a member who teaches an online course will be reimbursed up to $15.00 per month for internet fees upon presentation of receipts for the semester in which the course is given.

For this purpose, please contact your department and include lr-acad@uottawa.ca and info@aptpuo.ca in CC.

‍TLSS Programming
Winter 2022

The Teaching and Learning Support Service (TLSS) has shared the training schedule for the Winter 2022 term. You can consult the list of training courses offered here.

Reminder: According to article 5.1.4.3 of the Main Unit’s Collective Agreement, if you want to take a technology related training course offered by the TLSS, you must first seek approval from your department in order to be compensated for completing such training.

Your department cannot refuse your request without providing a valid reason.We suggest that you copy the Association (info@aptpuo.ca) when making requests. Please be sure to specify the title of the training.
