It would be great to have a colleague from education chime in, but hybrid teaching is emerging as the gold standard. The term has been used in various ways, which makes it difficult to pin down. You might have heard terms like hybrid teaching, the blended model or the flipped classroom. What they are really referring to is that after you make the crucial choice of whether to adapt the synchronous or asynchronous format, you can mitigate the weakness of this approach by adopting the strengths of the other. Attached are are my thoughts on ‘hybridity’ relative to the University of Ottawa and my discipline.
